Storm boats used in the crossing of the Roer

Storm boats used in the crossing of the Roer have drifted from the crossing sites and have become caught on a blown bridge downstream. Many of the boats from the first waves of the assault were lost like these forcing the subsequent waves to delay their crossings. This picture was taken in the XIX Corps sector.
