William Savage VC

Able Seaman William Alfred Savage VC who won his high award for the valour he showed whilst acting as gunlayer on the forward pom-pom of MGB 314. Throughout the raid he remained at his post completely exposed and under heavy fire engaging with enemy positions ashore with steely accuracy. He later died of his wounds.
