Portland Harbour - US troops board ships in early June 1944 in preparation for Operation Overlord. In the background LST-134 loads vehciles attached to the HQ element of US 1st Infantry Division bound for Easy Red, Omaha Beach. It was part of Task Force 124.5 (Assault Group 0-3) and was to land units of the 18th RCT on the beaches of Fox Green and Easy Red (eastern sector of Omaha Beach) June 6, 1944. This is part of LST Group 30 of the LST Flotilla 12.
