The main casemate of WN-18. This concrete emplacement housed a 75-mm gun used to fire in enfilade along the lenght of Sword Beach. The reinforced flanking wall on its seawards side made the position impervious to gunfire from warships. It was eventually knocked out by tank fire at close range.
