Having previously failed at 0800 hrs on 6 June, the self propelled guns of 58th Armoured Field Artillery Battalion finally landed on Dog Red about 1600 hrs. The smoke that can be seen is from grass fires covering the bluffs in several sectors. The smoke on the right is from the wreckage of LCI 91 and 92 hit about 0800 hrs that morning.
