17 March 1944 Fifth Army Anzio Beachhead area a night flash from a British 4.5 in gun of the British Scottish Horse Bn called Long Tom. Powder charge 43 is being used which gives the shell a range of 21000 yards. The shell from this mission scored a direct hit on a house that was being used by the Germans for a CP.
