German prisoners digging graves in the site of the provisional second cemetery (established in 1944) on the cliff at Colleville-sur-mer in eastern Ruquet. This cemetery was a little west of present cemetery, built several years later. Its construction began in June 11 and the bodies were transferred there from July 20, 1944 since the first interim cemetery located at the foot of the cliff between Vierville and St. Lawrence on White Dog.
