German and Italian prisoners of war are escorted into captivity. When Rommel's forces coallpsed at the end of the battle, most of those troops who got away had their own transport. Those infantry who had no access to vehicles, and this included the bulk of the Italian infantry divisions, had to try to make their escape on foot. Thousands of them were captured.
