BHC 000517 Cherbourg

Ref: BHC 000517

A street in Cherbourg after liberation. The French flag is flying over "The House of the Prisoner." This is Castle Street (one of the still existing pedestrian streets), which goes from the Place de Gaulle Place de la Fontaine. The road on the right at the end of the street leads to the rue Grande-Rue (junction with the Rue du Commerce, the latter a continuation of the Rue du Chateau). The little street that leads right (behind the tricolor) is the start of Notre Dame.
