US soldiers embarking on their ships at the beginning of June 1944 ready for Operation Overlord. This photos shows a GMC truck being loaded, at the bottom left and slightly cut off can be seen a sign stating BERTH E and in the background LST-134 can be seen. This means that these vehicles shipped from Weymouth and Portland and were scheduled for Easy Red. They were transporting units attached to HQ 1st US Division and were to land units of the 18th RCT on the beaches of Fox Green and Easy Red (eastern sector of Omaha Beach) June 6, 1944. This is part of LST Group 30 of the LST Flotilla 12
