Ref: BHC 001211

A battered piano found in the ruins of this building wrecked in the battle of Valognes, France, can still beat out a ragged accompaniment for the song of these American labor leaders on tour of French battle fronts. The labor men are, left to right, R. J. Thomas, President of the United Automobile Workers, Detroit, Mich, Sherman H Dalrymple President of the United Rubber Workers Akron Ohio and David J McDonald President of the UNited Steel Workers Pittsburgh. The labor leaders are touring the warfront in order to gain first hand knowledge of American made battle equipment. France 20 August 1944
