Boarding assault ships in early June 1944 in preparation for Operation Overlord in Weymouth Harbour. LCI's are used to board soldiers from the 5th BSE bound for Omaha onto the LCVP USS Thurston (AP-77). Weymouth Pavilion can be clearly seen in the background and also three large barrage balloons lie on the dock side.
