Royal Marines from 4 Special Service Bde HQ arrive on Nan Red Beach in the small Landing Craft Infantry - LCI(S) - that has carried them over the channel. The steep ramps leading down from the light wooden craft made disembarkation very difficult. Many men were tipped into the sea as the ends of the walkways bucked violently on the incoming waves.
