Nan Red Beach just to the east of Bernieres. B Coy North Shore Regiment landed near the bottom of the picture, in front of the large house on the beach with a high sea wall. A company landed to the right, opposite the seaside villas. The ground at the rear of the beach has been pockmarked by hundreds of 5-inch rockets fired from the LCT(R)s which accompanied the assault landing craft
