German Prisoners under guard on Nan White Beach at Bernieres on D Day. The troops with a white band around their helmets and a white circular patch on their sleeves are british beach group personnel, probably from the 5th Royal Berkshires. This picture was taken in front of the 50mm gun emplacement on the sea wall within strongpoint WN-28 (see BHC 004023)
