Another of the Capa series of photographs, US infantry cross an offshore sandbar on Omaha Beach early on 6 June, visible in the background are troops nearer the shore (but in deeper water), steel hedghogs, and several Sherman tanks. Many of th etroops are hiding in the shallows behind the tanks or at the pebble bank near the top of the beach.
